Module 4 - Vehicle Part 3

This being my final week of the second semester, I am pretty confident with my first ever vehicle made! I based it off the Type-6 Transporter from the game Elite Dangerous. I didn't make an exact replica as I made some changes to it. But overall, I am satisfied with it.

Common Art Sprint #7 C Level Assets

For this week, I textured the assets enough to be considered C level (not shown in video below). I didn't get to the architecture this time around though.

Module 4 - Vehicle part 2

Since I won't be available the final week, I have to crunch the schedule. This week I managed to do the high res in Zbrush, make UVs for the ship, and bake hi res onto the game res ship. I think I can do a better job with the UVs but experimenting with the textile density was messing up my flow. So i just let the individual parts their own textile density all across.

NEW Schedule:

Week 1 - Proxy Model

Week 2 - High Res Model / Game Res / UVs / 1st Bake

Week 3 - Final Display / Fully Textured

Module 4 - Vehicle Part 1 Proxy

For this module, we had a choice to choose between environment, vehicle, prop, or character. I decided to go with a vehicle to test myself since I've never worked on before. I am unsure if I should make it watertight or multiple geo but made it in different parts anyway. It was much easier this way.

Schedule:

Week 1 - Proxy Model

Week 2 - High Res Model

Week 3 - Game Res / UVs

Week 4 - Final Display / Fully Textured

Sprint #6 Deliverable

During this sprint, I was out sick most of the time. However, I was upgrading the assets to 'C' level assets. I will implement them in the game for the next sprint as that is the 'C' Level Delivery. Not only that, but I have materials to put on the assets to better identify them, rather than having the default "lambert 1" material.

Module 4 - Vehicle References

Here are the references of the vehicle I'll be working on until the end of the Spring semester.

Module 3 - Week 11 Final Display of Creature Diorama

In this project, the most complicated part was trying to get the succulents to look like succulents. Based on the references, they seemed like they had very flat color to them with a white coating. I did my best to replicate that by masking the plant, using a very faint hint of white, then changing the roughness so it looked more matte. It was troublesome in the end because it just looked like a flat color overall.

This environment was for Kaylie White's baby dragon. We intended it to be a "scaled up" environment, to make the baby dragon standout in it's habitat by making the flora to be the same size as him, but still pretty big in this case.
